1900’s

1910’s

The Hobble skirt, narrow thru the ankle which contracted movement, was new to the scene!  Today, we love our pencil skirts, duster coats, and lace up boots!  

 

1920’s

The flapper, relaxed dropped wastes, ornate beads and feathers was where it was at.  Elegant, yet more comfortable.  Today’s equivalent is the Little Black Dress, elegant and simple, often times adorned with a bit of lace or beads.  

 

1930’s

Gowns cut on the bias, form fitting and elegant was the rage.  Satins were big!  Today, we showcase long lean bodies with slip dresses, in the same fabric selection!

 

1940’s

The Bikini!  Daring bathing attire, trying to go below the belly button!  Today, we have gone Waaaaaay below the belly button, while returning to the “mom cut” bottoms of the 40’s, coupled with the same kind of tops, a bit less revealing, many with short sleeves!

 

1950’s

The 50’s gave us full bottomed dresses with cinched wastes, below the knee lengths, with structured busts.  Today, and ever since the 50’s, this style remains a favorite, comfortable, cool and chic!

 

1960’s

Uh…..the miniskirt!!!!  Once we discovered this sexy, showcasing of great legs discovery, we never turned back!  Still a staple in many closets, in all kinds of fabrics.  Jean and leather mini’s reign!  

 

1970’s

Platform shoes made a reappearance.  they were big in the 40’s too!  30 years had passed to recycle this balancing act fashion statement! Today’s platforms are just as high, and just as dangerous!  

 

1980’s

Leggings!  Wow, once these came on he scene, there was no turning back.  Oh my god!  the freedom and comfort!  We’ve morphed into more of the same, only with different fabrics.  

 

1990’s

The 90’s was the era of minimalism, slip dresses, sheer fabrics.  Today, we continue to enjoy more of the same!   Calvin Klein fashions are a great example of this look and feel.

2000’s

The track suit came of age, in all of its comfort and glory!  Todays “track suit” has designer labels, trendy colors and leg styles, but “trackish” all the same!

 

2010’s

Athletic leisure became the rage, and still is!  The skinny jean emerged, and reigns today.  A modern spin on the 80’s leggings.  Sneakers and hoodies completed the look!
